Invergordon strongman ties the knot - and prepares for showdown with brother!

AN EASTER Ross athlete who’ll be battling his little brother in a bid to be named Scotland’s strongest man this weekend has also found the time to strengthen a special tie away from the gym.
Luke Stoltman (31), of Easter Kincraig, near Invergordon, tied the knot with Kushi Roberts (23), who he met through the Forge Gym he trains at in Inverness.
Kushi, originally from London, moved to the Highlands four years ago and the couple never looked back after meeting.
It’s not often people get a chance to chuck eggs at Scotland’s strongest man without fear of reprisal, so Luke's pre-wedding ‘blackening’ was a golden opportunity for friends and well-wishers in Invergordon as the couple were driven around on the back of a float in time-honoured tradition.
Proud mum Sheila said: “The blackening took place at Luke’s house at Easter Kincraig. Once the couple had been blackened with eggs, flower and mixed buckets of smelly ingredients, they were driven around Luke’s hometown of Invergordon on the back of a decorated truck while family and friends followed behind dooting their horns.”
The wedding at Kincraig Castle Hotel saw the happy couple joined by family from all over the UK, Africa and Austrailia for a great celebration. Luke and Kushi cut the cake in true strongman style using a claymore.
Luke will be seeing a lot more of one member of his family in particular this weekend in Dumfries as he comes face to face with brother Tom (21) in his bid to regain Scotland’s Strongman title for the fourth consecutive year.
Sheila said: “All Luke and Tom’s friends and family wish them both the best of luck regardless of the outcome. Tom and Luke both work but train every day.
“When Luke is at home, they train together. They are both dedicated strongmen. As his parents, both Ben and myself could not be prouder. We have watched them both grow not only in size but as caring and confident young men.”
The brothers, she says, are “always on the lookout for sponsorship” if anyone is interested. Both can be contacted via their Facebook pages.
