Invergordon Academy is housing Park Primary pupils following February's blaze.

AN EASTER Ross primary school has appealed to parents of pupils to help avoid "bottlenecks" as youngsters come and go from their temporary classrooms.

Pupils at Park Primary in Invergordon are being housed in a section of Invergordon Academy after a blaze in February destroyed much of their school building.

Through the school's information page, parents are being asked to enter the Academy grounds from the Leisure Centre side of the campus.

It noted some parents have been driving up the side road by the Academy to drop children at the PE side of the school.

The appeal asks parents and children not to walk round the back of the school to access class lines.

It went on: "We are also aware that the path from the leisure centre leading to the Park Primary part of the building is becoming a bit of a bottleneck for parents.

"We are hoping to introduce a one-way system but need a wee adjustment to the fence before this can happen. We will keep you posted, but in the meantime please keep to the left of the path so that parents can socially distance without having to walk round other people. Please use the open green area before the path if you are chatting to friends but remember the two-metre rule!

"We would like to remind you to drop children off at school and leave wherever possible, the exception being P1 parents – but you are still expected to keep 2m apart. PSAs are in the playground to support with dropping children off."

It thanked parents for help in keeping the school safe.
