AN Invergordon man has been arrested and charged with 20 separate offences of theft by shoplifting.

In recent weeks, officers across the north Highlands have been targeting those committing retail crime, say Police Scotland Highlands and Islands. They say this is part of a larger Retail Crime Task Force initiative.

During this initiative, Alness police officers arrested and charged an Invergordon man with 20 separate offences of theft by shoplifting.

He has since been remanded in custody.

Police Scotland Highlands and Islands said: “This result was only possible thanks to the vigilance of local businesses and the public working in partnership with our local officers.”
