Invergordon dancers almost left their teacher with tears of pride, after their dance show which proved how much they had “grown in confidence over a short time”.

After months of practise, dancers at South Lodge Primary School put on a show at the school with help from their dancing teacher, Leonie Reid.

Leonie said: “I’m just so proud. Some of these girls had been attending the dance club since the summer, and a lot of them only joined last month. To see them all grow in confidence in that short time… I can only imagine how fantastic they will all be by their summer show!

“I’m absolutely blown away, got absolutely spoilt by everyone. The girls all did so well. Despite technical difficulties with the music, they took it all in their stride and did amazingly! A huge thank you to every single person who helped, donated or contributed in any way. It couldn’t have been done without you all.”

At the end of the show Leonie was surprised with flowers and grifts from her pupils, which almost left her in tears of joy.

South Lodge Primary School said: “What an absolutely amazing performance by all the dancers of Leonie’s dance group this afternoon. I was so proud of them all! What a talented lot and such effort put in to an amazing showcase. Well done to all and a massive thank you to Leonie for all her amazing work with the girls! We definitely need more of this at South Lodge!

“The Southlodge dance group will return after the holidays, on Thursdays 3pm in the gym hall. It’s free to attend and we would love to see some new faces.”
