PUPILS at an Easter Ross secondary celebrated the end of term in style by throwing a Winter Ball they played a major part in organising.

Invergordon Academy’s senior students were given the chance to develop their leadership and organisational skills.

Supported by home economics teacher Denise Booth, pupils shared out jobs on their ‘to do list’ and worked as a team to pull off the event.

Students were keen to make the dance as affordable as possible and organised a ‘swish’ where donations of formal and party wear from the community could be snapped up for just £3 per item.

Head teacher Morven McAndrew said pupils spoke positively about the importance of such social events “and how they bring everyone together at a special time of year”.
