Highland artist Gilly Langton celebrates 25 years of contemporary jewellery at Plockton Village Hall

An internationally renowned jewellery designer is celebrating 25 years of practise this week by showcasing her vivid collection at Plockton Village Hall.
Gilly Langton has created exclusive jewellery collections for the British Museum and showcased at London Fashion Week.
Her career has also seen her exhibit at the Museum of Art&Design in New York and Goldsmiths Fair in London.
To mark this special career anniversary, Gilly is hosting a Big Summer Jewellery exhibition which kicks off today.
A private viewing will be taking place at the village hall this evening (Monday 11) from 6pm-9pm.
The show will continue to run from July 12 to 23 from 11am to 6pm, where locals and visitors are invited to come and see her vibrant pieces of jewellery.
Gilly said: “The annual showcase features my statement colourful jewellery in the very place it's made and inspired.
“I relocated to the small fishing village of Plockton after a life changing residency funded by the Highland Council in 2005.
“The nautical surroundings fuel my inspiration to create jewellery influenced by fishing buoys, ropes and yachts.”
“The annual exhibition is important to me as it creates a Sense of Place for my jewellery practise – inspiration, designing, making and selling to the community and tourists brings each piece of jewellery full circle.”
Her colourful hand dyed elastic and sterling silver jewellery can be purchased at her selected stockists including: National Galleries of Scotland and Edinburgh; Aberdeen Art Gallery; The Hepworth; Wakefield and Manchester Art Gallery as well as her online store.
