AN epic run tractor run through some of Ross-shire’s most stunning scenery turned heads of passers-by along the way as a crofters’ convoy headed west at the weekend.

The sponsored Vintage Tractor Run saw the stunning vehicles set out in aid of Maggie’s Highland, leaving Dingwall on Saturday en route to Plockton and returning east the following day.

To date, more than £2000 has been raised thanks to advance donations and well-wishers who contributed along the way.

It was a case of third time lucky for an event twice cancelled because of Covid-19.

There was plenty of opportunity for folk to get a glimpse of the eye-catching parade as the tractors made their leisurely way via Muir of Ord, Beauly, Drumnadrochit, Invermoriston, Inverinate, Dornie, Balmacra and Kyle of Lochalsh.

On the way back home, tractors took in Strathcarron, Achnasheen and Garve before arriving back in the county town.

One of the organisers, Rachael Burnett declared the event a great success. She said: “It was a long weekend but the best!”
