Home Bargains names the date for Dingwall opening and flags job opportunities

THE opening date for a new Home Bargains store under construction in Dingwall has been confirmed.

Home Bargains made its initial application three years ago for a site bounded to the north by the Peffery with a Lidl store adjacent to the immediate south and St Clement's School and Dingwall Community Centre to the west.

The fast-growing discount store has more than 500 branches across the UK and prides itself on “top brands at bottom prices”.

A spokeswoman this week confirmed: “We are really excited to open our first store in Dingwall. The store is due to open on the October 12, 2024.

“The store will be over 20,000 square foot and in addition to our famous Top brands at Bottom Prices across our extensive range of food and non-food products, we will also have an extensive range of fresh, chilled and frozen products plus an instore bakery.

“This store will be recruiting in excess of 50 colleagues, ideally all from the local community , with all available roles advertised on our careers website.

The Dingwall site already has an extensive planning history including three separate planning permissions for retail use, the most recent being granted in 2014. All three permissions prior to the current one then expired.
