With socialising limited this festive season, the dating scene is grim in winter 2020... but there’s still a way to have fun (safely) from the comfort of your own home!

Online lockdown dating show Zoom to Groom is back by popular demand for a one-off Christmas special on Saturday 12th December at 10pm - and it’s calling for single people of all ages and persuasions from the Highlands to apply.

The concept is simple: singletons are set up on 90-second speed dates over video call - and the whole thing is broadcast live on the internet to thousands of viewers on Facebook, Youtube and Twitch.

With just 90 seconds to impress, will it be love, hilarity or downright awkwardness for the contestants? Anything goes on Zoom to Groom!

The show hit headlines earlier this year after Scottish comedian Dee Maxwell matched with ICW wrestler Davey Blaze and an unexpected romance ensued.

Typically reaching audiences of over 50k per episode, Zoom to Groom became a cult online hit after married dad-of-three Andy Dunlop, from Darvel, decided to create some home entertainment during lockdown with his own ‘virtual pub’ The Stayin’ Inn.

From Mondays to Fridays he hosts pub quizzes for charity, raising over £50,000 so far for various causes. But on Saturday nights he decided to do something different, and Zoom to Groom was born following a conversation with his mates about how difficult dating would be during lockdown.

Andy said: “With the majority of Scotland back in some form of lockdown and festive cheer slowly disappearing, we wanted to make sure we warmed some cockles this Christmas!

Zoom to Groom helped a lot of people through lockdown in the summer so hopefully it can bring more people together this winter, as it’s an especially difficult time to be on your own”.

Single people who want to apply just need to fill out this simple online application form and we will be in touch!
