Police have issued an appeal for information following an assault on a man in a Nairn nightclub

The incident happened at premises in Church Street in the early hours of yesterday.

Police Scotland said: "A 23-year-old man sustained a facial injury during an altercation around 2.30am. He declined medical treatment at the time.

"The nightclub was busy and officers are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch."

Anyone who can help with inquiries should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0548 of Sunday, 13 March, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
