Dingwall Mart pays tribute to leading light as 40-year milestone marked

A FACE familiar to generations of the Ross-shire community has marked a milestone at Dingwall Mart.

Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd managing director Grant Macpherson has clocked up 40 years of service since he started work with Reith and Anderson (Dingwall & Tain) Ltd, the company that evolved into the one he leads today.

The company paid tribute on social media with a post thanking him for “all your hard work, dedication and enthusiasm” which it said had “hugely contributed to making our company the success it is today and we all look forward to you leading us into the future”.

Amongst many tributes, one well-wisher wrote: “You deserve it. You’re one of life’s good guys.” Another posted: “Congratulations Grant, what a fantastic achievement! You must’ve been a very young lad when you started!”

In a note of thanks, Mr Macpherson posted his thanks for the many good wishes. He said: “I would like to pay tribute to all my colleagues past and present. It’s not all the work you see on sale days but the effort and unseen work and hours put in behind the scenes over a great number of years by so many different people mostly with good humour.”

He saved the “biggest thank you” to his wife Clare “and my greatest achievements, my boys Andrew and Scott”.
