Highland Heroes 2025: Nominate your emergency services/armed forces Heroes

Highland Heroes pays tribute to our real-life superheroes with the emergency services/armed forces hero award.

The recipient will be an outstanding member of the emergency services or armed forces who has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

NOMINATE your Highland Heroes 2025 by midnight on Sunday, December 15.

The award for emergency services/armed forces hero is once again sponsored by Openreach Scotland.

“There’s an award for everyone to get behind, and our category recognises the vital role of emergency workers and armed forces personnel. It’s always incredibly humbling to hear of the heroic ways they support local people, communities and the many visitors who enjoy our wonderful scenery and hospitality.

“We’re doing our bit to keep folk connected, with our new full fibre broadband network continuing to expand everywhere from Cromarty and Onich to Spean Bridge and Inverness. So it’s now even quicker to nominate your Highland heroes online ahead of the public vote.

“We’re really looking forward to celebrating the Highlands’ unsung heroes once again, and hearing their truly inspirational stories. So please help your hero get the recognition they deserve, take a look at the award categories and put their name in the frame today.”

Highland Heroes 2025 is a fantastic way to give thanks and to celebrate the unsung heroes in your community.

• Charitable organisation

• Emergency services

• Fundraiser

• Volunteer

• Green hero

• Brave child

• Healthcare hero

• School

• Primary teacher

• Primary pupil

• Secondary pupil

• Secondary teacher

Once all of the nominations have been submitted, our judges will whittle down the entries to create a shortlist and you will be invited to vote for your winners.

All of the finalists, sponsors and guests will be invited to the awards ceremony at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel on Friday, March 14, 2025 where the winners will be revealed!

In addition to the main categories, there is also a very special award presented on the night.

A hero of heroes will be chosen by the judges from among all of your winners.
