The call is out for the north's local heroes to step forward – and have a chance of netting their favourite charity a £5000 donation.

Insurance broker Marsh Commercial is looking for businesses and individuals who give their time to good causes, from helping in a foodbank to retraining the unemployed or maintaining public spaces.

Marsh Commercial's Inverness-based development manager Sarah Mackay said it was easy to take part by visiting the firm's website, marshcommercial.co.uk.

"Make a short video, no longer than three minutes, about what you’ve been up to. On your phone is fine and upload to Marsh Commercial’s website by midday on November 30," she explained.

"All validated videos, will go live on the website the day after. Once the videos are live, the voting begins. So make sure you share your video amongst your friends, family and colleagues to secure a place in the top 5 by December 21.

"The top five favourites in the business and individual categories will meet Marsh Commercial’s awards panel – virtually – for a chat. And when they’ve heard your great stories, they’ll announce their winners. And the winners' charity partners will win £5000."

The winners' charity's will not be the only ones to benefit from the Marsh Commercial For the People Award 2020.

For every validated entry, the business will donate £10 to support The Silver Line helpline.
