KEY workers in part of Easter Ross now have access to additional support when looking for childcare during the pandemic recovery period – thanks to staff at High Life Highland.

The organisation’s staff are involved in the delivery of a childcare hub for key workers at the Averon Centre in Alness, supporting wider Highland Council efforts in the region.

Since July 22, childcare has been made available to key workers directly supporting the Covid-19 response. It has also been made available to health and care workers supporting life threatening emergency work, as well as critical primary and community care provision such as fire, police and social workers. High Life Highland chief executive, Steve Walsh, said: “I am delighted that we are able to support Highland Council in providing this vital resource for key workers and I am very proud that the ‘can-do’ attitude of our staff has enabled HLH to provide this important and essential service so quickly.

“The initial request for support came last Friday and since then our team members, who were already undertaking our own recovery preparations, have worked extremely hard to make sure everything was ready to be fully up and running on July 22.”

“HLH has an important role to play supporting local communities... as we continue our bounceback campaign. Providing the support necessary for the childcare hub at the Averon Centre is another essential element along that road.”
