Highland footballer Lewis MacKinnon has achieved a notable hat-trick in winning an award three times in a row.

He picked up the National House Builders Council award as site manager of Tulloch Homes’ The Maples development.

It is the fourth NHBC triumph in all for the former Caley Thistle player who is now centre back and assistant manager of Highland League club Buckie Thistle.

He said: “It’s a tribute to my team of tradespeople at The Maples, and their professionalism, that I’ve won my third successive national award.

“I’ve a tried and trusted group but we’ve also had new sub-contractors this year who have shown they can meet our rigorous standards.

“We’ve been extremely busy responding to consistently brisk sales, but attention to detail remains our focus.

“I was honoured by NHBC the first time for The Parks development in Inverness in 2016. Following that by landing a treble triumph for the prestigious The Maples location is something I’d hardly dreamed about.”

Sandy Grant, managing director of Tulloch Homes, said: “We’re delighted at this latest recognition for Lewis and The Maples.”

Mr MacKinnon and his wife Ashley have three daughters.
