AN Easter Ross bowling club's resident 'hawk' has made a remarkable recovery after urgent attention following a wind-related broken wing incident.

Invergordon Bowling Club reports that its bird deterrent – nicknamed Harriet – is back in action after taking a battering from the wind overnight.

The club, tongue in cheek, had earlier reported: "It would appear the club's Harriet the Hawk has injured herself in the winds overnight.

"She was flapping around at the end of her line in an erratic manner this morning and has since been rescued. On inspection it appears she has broken her wing. The club's resident in-house vet has since been contacted and Harriet has been taken into the clubhouse to rest while she awaits surgery to repair her wing. We all wish Harriet the Hawk a speedy recovery and to see her back on flying duties over the green."
