THE hard work and dedication shown by staff right across the board in NHS Highland when it comes to tackling the ongoing coronavirus threat “cannot be underestimated”, its new boss said.
Pamela Dudek is full of praise for the way staff in the health board have risen to the unprecedented challenge.
“An immense amount of effort has been put in by everyone across Highland, Argyll and Bute,” she said.
“It has been very challenging across health and social care for us and our partners.
“Covid-19 has not gone away.
“We are mindful of that as we look to remobilise services but also ensure we are prepared if there is an increase in cases, while at the same time making sure that we, as health and social care staff, are as safe as possible in order serve our communities.”
Without playing down the seriousness of the situation for those infected, the NHS Highland area has seen relatively few Covid cases compared to the central belt, but Mrs Dudek insisted: “The hard work everyone across health and social care has put in cannot be underestimated. My huge thanks to everyone for what they have done and continue to do.”
