Scottish rockers Gun return to headline Monsterfest at Eden Court in Highland capital
Monsterfest have announced the return of festival favourites Gun to this year’s line-up as the closing headline act on the Saturday night.
The Glasgow band which have had a series of hits over the years such as Word Up, Steal Your Fire and Better Days come back to the festival after topping the billed acts in front of a packed crowd in 2019.
Then, our reviewer commented that the band looked every inch the headliners from the start of their set. They opened with hyperactive singer Dante Gizzi getting stuck into Gun's careerful of rock songs – from first album Taking On The World numbers to end the night on a high with their cover of the Beastie Boys’ (You Gotta) Fight For The Right (To Party).
Currently working on a new album due out around the time of the festival, the band's new single Backstreet Brothers is released later this month. It's a song that reflects on the band's Gizzi brothers, Dante and guitarist Jools, and their lives growing up in Glasgow.
Gun step in after the original headliners The Quireboys parted company with their frontman and singer.
Monsterfest is on from October 26-30 at the festival's new home, the OneTouch Theatre at Eden Court.
