Groups in Maryburgh and Culbokie are hoping for funding boosts.

Members of Highland Council’s Black Isle, Dingwall and Seaforth committee had been due to consider applications by the Maryburgh Men’s Shed group and Culbokie Community Trust to the coastal communities fund.

The Maryburgh group is seeking £5000 towards its work to transform the former Maryburgh Primary School into a valuable community asset.

The Culbokie group is seeking £4450 for work to create a new village green.

The meeting of councillors had been due to take place this week, but was cancelled earlier this week in response to the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.

No date has yet been set for the meeting to reconvene.

Among other items councillors were due to consider was an updated plan for local road repairs.
