GREEN-fingered gurus on the Black Isle are being given the chance to show their creative side while supporting a local horticultural group.

Black Isle Horticultural Society is challenging gardeners to showcase their lockdown efforts. It said: "

Lots of people have been busy in the garden during lockdown. We've got some prizes up for grabs for some of your lockdown gardening efforts.

"There's categories for wildlife spotted in the garden or out and about, so even if you don't have a garden you can enter from something you've seen in the beautiful back yard of the Highlands!

We also have a children's category.

"Categories include recycled item in the garden; surprise plant; lockdown experiment; wildflower seen on your daily exercise; wildlife seen in your garden; favourite weed; Get out; Get creative; Get entering; we're looking forward to seeing your entries."

Enter by sending an entry to the Facebook page. Entries cost £1 each or £5 to enter all.

The group hopes to make a modest return to make up for some of fundraising opportunities lost as a result of Covid-19.
