DESPITE recent heavy rains, a brilliant display of fruit, flowers and vegetables greeted visitors to the Black Isle Horticultural Society Summer Show.

And as the sun shone on Saturday, visitors were able to enjoy cream teas served on the lawn beside the Gordon Memorial Hall in Rosemarkie.

Although the number of exhibits of fruit, vegetables, flowers, pot plants, and cut flowers suffered as a result of the poor weather this year, the food and preserves enjoyed a bumper showing.

The craft section also had more entries than for many years, and the young people’s section attracted large entries of decorated flowerpots and miniature gardens.
