PUPILS at a Wester Ross secondary school celebrated the end of the term in style by following an annual tradition which has become an eagerly anticipated fixture in its busy social calendar.

And as these pictures reveal, Gairloch High School pupils showed they like to party in style.

And the school’s annual Christmas dance was put together and organised by its sixth year pupils with the theme Starry Night Fever serving as inspiration for a thoroughly entertaining evening enjoyed by.

For many it was a welcome opportunity to dress to the nines and socialise with school pals ahead of the festive break.

For some of the senior students, it was a chance to take some time out from studying for prelims which will come shortly after the start of a new term next week.

Music was provided by local band Recovery, catering by Gairloch Hotel, and photography by Søren Moore. It was staged at Gairloch Community Hall and involved 110 pupils from S1-6 as well as staff.

Teachers offered a “huge well done” to the S6 senior prefect team who put the whole event together with help from staff.
