A WESTER Ross secondary has finally filled a vacancy for its head teacher.

Wim Chalmet, currently depute head teacher at Golspie High School in Sutherland, will take up his new post after the summer holidays.

Councillor John Finlayson, chair of Highland Council’s care, learning and housing committee, said: “I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Highland Council to send our congratulations to Mr Chalmet on his new appointment and to wish him every success in his new role.”

Mr Chalmet said: "I am delighted and feel very privileged to be appointed as head teacher of such a wonderful school. I look forward to meeting pupils, staff, parents and the wider community in my new role and continuing the journey to achieve the best education possible for our pupils, as well as the continued success of Gairloch High School."
