Funny faces lift the coronavirus blues as Munlochy Animal Aid takes show online

AN animal shelter on the Black Isle has paid tribute to supporters for getting behind a revamped fundraiser – and revealed details of its next venture.
Munlochy Animal Aid relies on donations from the public to maintain its highly regarded service.
A raffle and online dog show were voted a great success – and along with a very generous donation, hauled in a grand total of £8500.
leading light Iona Nicol said: "It was an absolutely brilliant result and I thank everyone for the fantastic support we are given."
She said a donation by Fettes Sawmills and Lugarde of the first prize of a summerhouse was much appreciated: "Lots of people were desperate to win that prize!" she said.
One of the most popular online competitions was simply called "Funny Faces". Judges were kept amused with the pictures submitted from a wide variety of entrants.
The results were: 1 Sarah Milne;2 Scrap Stewart and 3 Isabelle O' Hanlon.
Mrs Nicol thanked everyone – including a large number of businesses and individuals who supplied raffle prizes – for their support.
Next up is a sponsored dog walk planned for later this month.
Munlochy Animal Aid exists to initially provide shelter and care to abandoned, abused and neglected animals and subsequently, wherever possible, to find suitable, permanent homes for them. It operates solely on donations from the public.
