Kessock RNLI crew gets third shout in as many days as Beauly Firth flare alert prompts launch
A ROSS-shire RNLI crew has attended its third shout in as many days.
The Kessock RNLI crew was paged in the early hours of this morning after HM Coastguard had received reports of red and white flares in the Beauly Firth.
The crew launched and conducted a shoreline search of both sides of the Firth up to Coul Point caravan park.
A further search of the marina followed with nothing found.
The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station to be made ready for service by 2am.
Kessock Lifeboat operations manager, Paul Thomas, said, “This was another excellent response from our volunteer crew and highlights their readiness to respond at any time of day or night to the call that someone may be in distress. It is what we train to do and the teamwork really pays off on weeks like this when everyone has to play their part.”
“As a charity we are entirely funded by donations from the public so every single donation literally keeps us trained on the water and safely kitted out to save lives.”
