FIVE teenagers have been charged in connection with alleged vandalism to seats at the stadium where Ross County triumphed in the Irn Bru Challenge Cup.

Police Scotland confirmed this afternoon that five males have been charged in relation to the alleged incident at the match in Inverness between Ross County and Connah's Quay Nomads.

The final, which Ross County won 3-1, was played at Inverness Caledonian Thistle's stadium.

The damage was caused in the South Stand, traditionally reserved for visiting supporters.

The charges follow enquiries into disorder at the final, which was played in Inverness on Saturday, March 23.

One male aged 15, two aged 16 and two 18-years-old will be the subject of a report to the Children's Reporter and Procurator Fiscal as appropriate, police said.

A statement said: "Enquiries will continue to trace others who have been identified as part of the post-match investigation."

Ross County and ICT last week issued a joint statement appealing to both sets of fans following a number of reported incidents of vandalism at each of their stadia.

It warned perpetrators could be identified through the use of CCTV.
