Fiona’s 51-year Dingwall Gaelic Choir membership celebrated

A BLACK Isle songbird’s loyalty to an acclaimed Ross-shire Gaelic choir has been celebrated.

Fiona Fraser of Munlochy, who is a native of Skye, has clocked up a remarkable 51 years with Dingwall Gaelic Choir.

The choir marked the milestone with a retirement party last Saturday.

Fiona was presented with a certificate of honorary membership by Dingwall Gaelic Choir president, Karen Cormack.

That was followed by a splendid buffet and the usual ceilidh enjoyed by all choir members.

Fiona was introduced to the choir in 1973 by Hector Mackenzie, at that time head teacher of Munlochy Primary School.

Fiona was presented with her certificate by her friend and chorister, Michael Paul, to much applause from the assembled company.
