After all entries were received, a total of 20 teams each drew a different genre out of a hat.

The stipulation for each filmmaker is that each character, prop and line of dialogue that were announced must be included in each film.

They were drawn as follows:

Character: Leah or Lee Crompton, athlete

Prop: a rock

Line of dialogue: "Pretty please."

Depute Provost for Inverness, Jackie Hendry welcomed the project to Inverness and wished the teams best of luck in their wild and crazy weekends.

Teams from all over Scotland are participating, and they will be filming in some of the most spectacular locations across the Highlands and Islands.

The participating teams wrote their films last night, will shoot today, and will aim to hand in the finished mini masterpieces on Sunday.

All films will be screened at Eden Court on Wednesday July 24, with screenings at 6pm and 8pm. Different .films will be shown at each screening, so viewers are encouraged to come to both.

Each screening will be followed by a Q and A with the filmmakers and a chance to vote for your favourites, followed by an awards party where winners will be announced in several categories.

Audience members are invited to stay after for the awards party where they will be offered a free drink with their cinema ticket.

The winning filmmaker will win a free trip to Filmapalooza, the international 48 Hour Film Festival, to be held in Seattle, Washington, USA in March 2025.

Tickets are priced at £5 and are on sale now at eden-court.co.uk/event/48-hour-film-project.
