The 2024 High Life Highland i-care awards celebrated the many ways in which staff and volunteers are making life better for residents and visitors across the region.

Jenny, i-care People’s Choice Award winner, whose classes include popular spin cycle sessions, said: “It’s a hobby, it’s not a job. It’s a passion. I love what I do. I love teaching. I love how they feel at the end of the classes.”

”She has an outstanding air of positivity about her which she promotes through her very energetic fitness classes. Jenny promotes positive relationships with her participants and gets to know us all personally.”

Another said: “She’s an inspiration. You sort of go in sometimes and say, ‘Oh God I can’t do this’. And then 45 minutes later you’re on Cloud 9.”

Another added: “You come in here and you might feel a bit flat and low and she just lights it all up.”

And another described her enthusiasm and motivation as “off the scale”.

One grateful attendee said: “She’s created this little community of people here which takes care of each other and knows each other and looks after each other. It’s been wonderful to become part of that.”
