HOMES in the Aultbea area of Wester Ross were without power this evening after a fault.

Two postcodes in the community lost power at around 5.10pm.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has apologised for the fault, and warned that the power could be out for more than three hours.

“We’re sorry for the loss of supply,” said a spokesman. “Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.

“If you need more information, please call us on 105 or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity) and quote reference 'GB5347'

At the time of writing, SSEN said it hoped to have the power restored by 8.30pm.

The outage affects homes in the IV22 2HU and IV22 2HZ postcodes.
