A fallen tree has damaged a retaining wall on a Highland route.

The Salen and Kilchoan road on the Ardnamurchan peninsula remains open but the upturned root has caused "significant damage" to the base of the retaining wall, Highland Council warned this afternoon.

The road will be monitored throughout and repair work is due to take place "as soon as possible".
