A BLACK Isle lunch in celebration of Robbie Burns was a “brilliant” success, with local school children stealing the show.

The Resolis Primary School Parent Council and a small committee of locals, got together to arrange a Burns Supper for the local community, with generous support from local businesses and families.

Pupils from Resolis Primary made the day, by taking to the stage to perform songs, poems and even a quiz. With 7-year-old pupils like Hector Henderson and Molly MacLennan sitting alongside the older generation, such as Alec Beaton (96), all enjoying their meal together was a heart-warming sight.

Rachel Young, a volunteer and Resolis Primary School parent, said: “Great team work and community spirit in our wee parish, really lovely to catch up with some of the seniors I haven’t seen in years!”

Linda Thomas, a guest at the event, said: “Huge congratulations and thanks again to you and all the team for an amazing event yesterday — it was SO good. Ron and I really enjoyed it.”

Charles Cooper, a guest at the event added: “I cannot remember a better time spent at the hall.”

Derek Massie stated: “It was brilliant and the children were amazing — the kids were the best part.”
