PUPILS at an Evanton primary school have been forced into a more dangerous route to school, due to works from the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).

Today (November 29), Kiltearn Primary School pupils found themselves forced to walk on the road, as works from SSEN blocked the footpath without providing any safe alternative route. Drummond Road in Evanton serves as the only northern route to the school, connecting Kiltearn Primary to the village.

SSEN left signs next to the the works, including one with an arrow directing pedestrians onto the road, another sign stated: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works. In case of emergency please call 0800 300 999.”
