AN Easter Ross social dance group has been looking back on a fulfilling 2024 - and eagerly anticipating more fleet-footed fun in the new year.

Meeting in the Diamond Jubilee Hall and led by dance instructors, Frank and Margaret, Wednesday afternoons have seen an average of 20 dancers tripping the light fantastic in Evanton on a lovely dance floor.

Ballroom and sequence dances, waltz and quickstep, tangos and strolls have all been covered along with many more giving fans of the BBC show Strictly plenty of opportunity to get active themselves with some new moves.

The Evanton Dance Group finished the year with an extended session, a spokesman said, “to allow us to enjoy a feast of home baking and to dance off some of those delicious calories”.

He added: “Our Summer dance was another live-show stoater from Ronnie Ross, a very talented, local and in-demand, multi-instrumental singer. It was well-attended, well danced and once again everyone left well fed.”

The club meet on a Wednesday afternoon, from 2pm to 4pm in the Victoria Diamond Jubilee Hall.

The spokesman added: “Come as a dance couple or a singleton, or just a social dance music fan - everyone is welcome.”
