STUDENTS targeting festive shoppers in the Highland capital drew warm praise from the judges of a business competion aimed at nurturing the entrepreneurs of the future.

Teams from both Fortrose Academy and Plockton High School were amongst those selling products they’d devised at the annual Young Enterprise Christmas trade fair, sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses and Black Isle Renewables.

Plockton’s Let’s Make History picked up the award for best costume on the day, while team Resolution from Fortrose was awarded the mystery shopper prize.

Linda Thomas, chairman of Young Enterprise Highland and Moray, said: “Our judges were immensely impressed by the high quality of the stalls and products for sale and the resourcefulness of the teams taking part.

“The trade fair is a great way for young people to learn about marketing and selling their products to the public.

“This year’s teams certainly rose to the challenge, with their professional approach resulting in one of the most impressive range of stalls and products we’ve ever had.”
