The regional list results for each of the eight Highlands and Islands constituencies are being collated and will be declared in the count centre in Inverness this evening.

Orkney, Shetland and Na h-Eileanan an Iar (Western Isles) announced their constituency regional list results on Friday.

The three Highland constituencies of Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, Inverness and Nairn and Caithness, Sutherland and Ross are anticipated to announce the regional list results this afternoon.

The result for Argyll and Bute is expected to be late afternoon or early evening, due to a delay caused by a fire alarm yesterday in the Count Centre.

Once all eight constituency results are known, the collation will take place in Inverness, using the D’Hondt method to complete the final calculation and checks, before the seven successful candidates on the list can be declared.

The declaration of the Highlands and Islands Regional List will be made in Inverness Count Centre by Regional Returning Officer, Donna Manson. This is anticipated to be early this evening.

Mrs Manson said: "This year count staff across Scotland have been working in exceptional circumstances due to the impact of the pandemic. I want to thank everyone who has been involved for their hard work and continued efforts to ensure we have an efficient, accurate and safe process. I also want to thank the candidates and agents and the media for their patience and understanding during these exceptional circumstances.

"Thank you everyone and stay safe."
