A TAKEAWAY in an Easter Ross town has announced its closure "until further notice".

Invergordon's Wok Inn closed last week, using its social media channels to thank customers for their support over the past eight years. The Chinese takeaway said it was time for operator William Wu to have a rest.

It said: "We have been here for the past eight years running the business and met wonderful people.New management will be taking over the shop soon and hope you'll be nice to them as you have been with us. Here's to us to new horizons and thank you to all our customers for their custom."

The post was met with scores of good wishes from locals and customers from further afield.

Janette Taylor said: "Wishing you all the very best from the Taylor family who always place an order when we're up visiting my parents. Take care and keep well."

Eileen Jane wrote: "Actually gutted – probably the best Chinese. Never had a bad order from you."

Ellen Finlay added: "Absolutely gutted. No Chinese matches yours. Good luck to you William Wu."

Terri Fleming simply stated: "Devastated."
