Plans for a major new school campus in Tain are out for public consultation

MEMBERS of the public wanting to have a say on the best option for a trailblazing school campus in Easter Ross have a week to make their views heard.

The consultation deadline to find a site for the proposed new school campus in Tain has been extended to Friday, July 18.

The 'superschool' campus would cater for an age range of three up to 18.

It will replace the existing Tain Royal Academy, Craighill and Knockbreck Primaries and St Duthus Special School.

The three options under consideration are: the existing Tain Royal Academy site; the existing Craighill Primary School, campus and a site at Kirksheaf.

Details of each of these site options are available on The Highland Council’s website at: www.highland.gov.uk/tainschool.

The local authority is consulting with those affected by the decision to amalgamate the schools on the best site for the proposed new school building and the public are invited to provide comments on the three site options.

A report on the outcomes of the community engagement will be presented to the Council’s Education, Children and Adult Services Committee on August 28.

Members of the public are invited to submit their comments:
