Easter Ross school closed due to utilities issue, Highland Council confirms





A ROSS-SHIRE primary was closed today due a utilities issue.

Newmore Primary in Easter Ross was one of three schools and nurseries on Highland Council’s closure list this morning.

A Highland Council spokeswoman said: “The school is closed due to a power/heating/water issue. We don’t have any further update at this time.”

She said the school closure page is updated at 4pm each day.

It comes after a torrid time for schools last week which saw thousands of pupils given days off due to the cold snap.

That saw many taking advantage of “snow days” to hit local slopes with sledges.
