AN Easter ross school closed today because of boiler problems is set to open tomorrow as normal.

Parents of primary and nursery pupils at South Lodge Primary in Invergordon were told at short notice this morning that the school wouldn't open today because of heating problems.

In a message to parents tonight, head teacher David Hayes-Macleod said: "Once again many apologies about the inconvenience caused by closing the school today.

"We were alerted at 8.30am that there was a major problem with the boiler so we had to act fast to inform you all as quickly as possible but I do appreciate it would have caused problems at home and for that I am very sorry.

"I am happy to say though that we have heating and hot water for tomorrow so School and Nursery will be open.

"Many thanks for your understanding."
