The Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Invergordon Community Hospital will re-open on Tuesday this week.

The MIU, which closed last year due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, will be accessible by appointment only.

Appointments will be allocated via NHS 24 by calling 111.

The service will open between 8am-6pm on Tuesday and Thursday for an initial period of three weeks before it returns to a five-day service.

Heather Hynd, NHS Highland’s lead advanced nurse practitioner for its East Highland out-of-hours service, said: “We are pleased that we are able to re-open the MIU at Invergordon Community Hospital, albeit on a phased basis for the next few weeks.

“The service will run between 8am-6pm and appointments can be made by calling NHS 24 on 111. We would appeal to members of the public not to visit the MIU without an appointment, although exceptions will be made in an emergency situation. Patients who have Covid-19 symptoms must not attend the MIU.”

Please call NHS 24 on 111 to arrange an appointment. Calls will be triaged and an appointment will be provided if required. Consultations via NHS Near Me can also be arranged if appropriate.
