AN Easter Ross medical practice plans starting its priority group Covid-19 vaccinations next week.

Tain and Fearn Area Medical Practice says it will be contacting all patients in the 80 years and over age group, including housebound patients, in the next few days to book them in for an appointment.

Appointments are expected to start from Tuesday, January 19.

The practice posted: "Please note that for these clinics you will be asked to enter the building through our door at the back of the Health Centre. This was the door that people exited through at our flu clinics. Signs will be in place to direct you and we will discuss this with you when we phone to book your appointment. Please park in the main car park and walk along the path to the rear of the building.

Patients will leave the Health Centre through the main front doors."

Patients are also advised not to drive for 15 minutes after receiving their vaccine. They will be asked to return to their vehicle and wait the required time.

It added: "Please do not phone the practice to make appointments for the Covid vaccination. You will be contacted by our team in the next few days or so. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we have been waiting for our vaccines to arrive."
