A Dornoch hotel has raised almost £2,500 for a cancer charity.
Links House at Royal Dornoch, in Golf Road, raised the cash for Hope for Tomorrow – which brings cancer care closer to patients’ homes via mobile chemotherapy units.
The five star hotel donated The Ultimate Luxury Highlands Weekend, at a recent Aston Martin, Go Behind the Scenes, Get Behind the Wheel fundraiser, which was auctioned to one lucky winner for £2,420 with all proceeds donated to Hope for Tomorrow.
A hotel spokeswoman said: "The prize will keep a Mobile Cancer Care Unit (MCCU) on the road providing cancer treatments for more than 12 whole days. On average each MCCU treats 20 patients with cancer a day, so this donation means 240 people will receive their cancer treatment from the NHS outside of the hospital environment."
The prize donated by Links House, which was recently voted 6th Best Hotel in the UK by the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller, included: accommodation in Links House’s penthouse apartment, The Mallart, which boasts stunning views over Royal Dornoch and the Dornoch Firth, dinner both nights in Dornoch’s Courtroom Bar and Brasserie and Links House’s soon-to-debut signature restaurant, Mara.
