HEALTH staff in an Easter Ross town have thanked the public for all of their messages of "kindness and understanding" amid the continuing Covid-19 lockdown and social distancing measures.

Tain and District Medical Group took to Facebook yesterday (Thursday) to update residents and patients following "lots of enquiries" asking how they were doing amid the coronavirus crisis.

"We have had lots of enquiries from members of the public asking how we are doing - we wanted to thank you all for all your kindness and understanding just now," said a spokesman.

"We are all doing fine and just doing our best to cope with very new and different ways of working and trying to do our very best by all our staff and patients.

"We are practising social distancing and enhanced cleaning regimes as well as using our PPE [personal protection equipment].

"It’s difficult times for us all and we really do appreciate your support, remember to use www.nhsinform.scot for up to date advice - stay home and stay safe from us all at Tain & District Medical Group."
