THE head teacher of an Easter Ross primary has assured parents there is no Covid outbreak at the school – and urged them to do all they can to limit the spread of the virus.

David Hayes-MacLeod of South Lodge Primary took to the Invergordon school's Facebook page to reassure parents and to urge them not to listen to gossip.

He said: "I take the health and safety of every single child and adult that works in my school extremely seriously and would not put anyone at risk.

"The cases that we have had are extremely isolated and actually one has turned out to be a false positive result and in fact resulted in a negative result.

"Please do not listen to gossip but be safe in the knowledge that I will always pass on any information to you all if there was an issue.

"Please continue though to be vigilant to symptoms and continue to do all you can to limit spread of the virus i.e. continue to wear face coverings on drop-off and pick-up, enhanced hand washing and keeping a safe distance from others.

"Many thanks everyone."
