Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team said: “We were at Bristow’s base at Dalcross, familiarising ourselves on the safety procedures and protocols of working in and around the SAR helicopter. It was then outside into the cold to put into practice all that had been discussed, with the team members practicing the use of a high line and being winched in and out of the helicopter.

“The team then had a Rendezvous Point (RVP) at Ord hill on the Black Isle where we spent the evening carrying out night navigation around the orienteering course, splitting into three-man teams and using only six figure grid references (just to make it a little more interesting) to locate the orienteering markers.”
