THE man who died when the fuel tanker he was driving on a Ross-shire road crashed has been named.

The single-vehicle collision on the A835 near Ullapool happened around 1pm on Saturday three miles south of Ullapool at Loch Broom.

Police named the driver the vehicle who died as Steven Mitchell (48), who was from Inverness.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision and who hasn't already made themselves known to police to make contact on 101.

Mr Mitchell's family have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
