TAILS will wag in Dingwall as the town is set to host a charity dog parade this October.
Organised by end-of-life support charity Marie Curie, the first-ever edition of the Dingwall Doggy Daunder will gather dog owners and their fluffy companions for a fun afternoon in the town centre.
The event will start with a dog parade at noon from the High Street to Ross County Football Club’s car park, where stalls and a catering van will be set up.
Community fundraiser for Marie Curie, Jillian Walker, said: “This is our first time doing this event, hopefully it will be a success and we will be able to continue to do it each year.
“We first tried to find out whether there would be appetite for this type of event and found that people were very supportive of it.
“We’ve had a few smaller events over the summer like garden tea parties, but this is the first slightly bigger event we have organised in a while.
“There will be stall set up in the car park and also a show ring where the judging for the different categories will take place. It’s all about having fun.”
Prizes on the day will go to the pooches with the waggiest tail, the best attitude, and the smiliest face among other categories, with Graham Ross of Conanvet being the judge on the day.
Dogs attending will have to be on lead and well behaved with other dogs and within crowds.
The Dingwall Doggy Daunder will take place on Sunday, October 10 from noon to 3pm.
