PUPILS at a Ross-shire school grateful for the support of other organisations in their fundraising ventures decided to return the favour last week.

St Clement’s in Dingwall hosted a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday with senior phase classes 8 and 9 raising an impressive £276.

Throughout the school, classes baked and made flowers to add decorations to the tables.

Head teacher Ruth Malone said: “They also made colourful cake stands.

“Each pupil from Classes 8 and 9 had a role and carried out their duties well which included a greeter at the door, cake replenisher, pourer of teas/coffees plus those in the background who cleared the dishes and washed up.

“Many organisations have been fundraising for the school and the young people thought it would be good for us to raise funds for others in need too.”

The school itself has been raising funds for playground improvements at its existing site pending a long-awaited and delayed new build to replace buildings which have been declared unfit for purpose.
