AN overflowing Dingwall skip has been causing a stir locally.

The red skip, located on Castle Street, is reportedly “becoming a health hazard, and the smell is horrendous,” according to one local.

Understood to have been there for quite some time, the skip carries the logo of Munro Highland — however, the company have confirmed that it is “the site’s responsibility to advise when the skip is full and requires exchanging”.

A spokesperson for Munro Highland said: “This was brought to our attention earlier today as unfortunately this is all over Facebook and it looks bad on us however it’s the site’s responsibility to advise when the skip is full and requires exchanging.

“I have contacted the customer responsible regarding this, however we can only exchange the skip. We require the rubbish around the skip to be cleared in advance of the skip exchange. The customer has been made aware of this.

“We expect our customers to adhere to the Waste Management Regulations required.”

Councillor for Dingwall and Seaforth, Graham Mackenzie confirmed he will see if he can “find out more” about the issue.
